The BackStoppers started their non-profit organization in 1959, recognizing the tremendous sacrifices made every day by police officers, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, publicly-funded paramedics and EMTs. Their charity provides needed financial assistance and support to spouses and dependent children of the public servants in their coverage area who have lost their lives or suffered a catastrophic injury performing their duty.

By making mortgage and care payments, paying off debt and defraying the expenses of higher education, The BackStoppers are honoring their philosophy to care for the loved ones of those who have protected us.

$900,000

ST. LOUIS (Feb. 19, 2020): The Guns ‘N Hoses Boxing Association
announced a record donation of $900,000 to The BackStoppers,
a nonprofit organization that assists families of first responders
who die or suffer a catastrophic injury in the line of duty. The
donation was made possible thanks to proceeds generated
from the 33rd annual Budweiser Guns ‘N Hoses boxing event
held at the Enterprise Center Nov. 27, 2019.
